Gifted one of the nine magical rings, he is remade into something dangerous—a Cretorian Knight, the elite guards of the Valenour family, and one of the few mortals permitted to command a dragon.

Yet in the treacherous world of Emerion, and amidst a dragon civil war, Lionus quickly learns, power is never given freely in Accreton.

Sent to secure an alliance in the Silverlands and guided by a fiery companion, Lionus is thrust into a court where loyalty is a blade that cuts both ways. In his journey, Lionus must seek the lost Cretorian Ring while evading the flames of an unknown rising dragon rider. To survive, Lionus must decide what he is willing to become: a knight, a weapon… or something far worse.
