A Bleeding Of A Million-Dollar IP My Ass

Hello,
Personal work made from a cancelled project.
To everyone who wants to commission a painting from an artist:
We artists not only earn money from our art, but we also do this work with passion. The works we produce not only provide us with a living, but also symbolize our past in our professional journey. Therefore, when an artist creates a work, they take care to complete it in the best possible way. They are even more meticulous than the person who commissioned the work, because it is their creation. And while doing this work, they act with the highest sense of responsibility and awareness of their duty.
When you take away an artist's freedom, interfere in matters that are not your business, and confuse an artist with an AI engine that you write prompts for and get the result from, that means the alarm bells are ringing. You cannot whine about "my requests are not being fulfilled" at the very beginning of the work. You must know who you are dealing with. They are not an operator, but an artist. And you cannot buy an artist with your money, nor can you force them to do something they think is wrong.
I consider two things in my work: firstly, that my client is completely satisfied with the painting they receive from me, and secondly, that I infuse the work with my soul.
Throughout my professional life, the project I enjoyed working on the most was George R.R. Martin & Elio M. Garcia Jr. and Linda Antonsson's "The Rise of the Dragon" book!
I created twenty-one illustrations and the book cover for this book.
And I worked with some of the world's best art directors.
And during this work, they left all the decisions to me. They depicted the scene that would appear in the illustration using lines from the book pages, and the rest was up to my artistic creativity.
In the end, I imagine it was an extremely enjoyable project for both sides. I can't thank them enough!
If you are not an art director, stop trying to tell an artist what should and shouldn't be in an illustration.
If you are dealing with an ordinary illustrator, they will accept your wrong decisions. But if you are dealing with an artist, they will cancel the project. Because an artist's main concern is making art. They are not interested in how much money you have.
Their sole aim is to enhance the value of your work.
If you turn this into a torment for the artist on the second day of the project with your absurd whims, they will simply wish you well and withdraw their support.
There is a great lesson to be learned from this.
Quote of the Day:
“I’m feeling no longer like I’m a paying client.”
Hope you enjoy!
